Terms of Service

By accessing or using Zenbu (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Zenbu is an anime discovery and tracking client. It reads and writes data through the public AniList GraphQL API and indexes third-party video sources for playback. There is no separate Zenbu account — access is tied to your AniList account.

Signing in requires an existing AniList account and authorizes Zenbu via AniList’s OAuth flow. Your list data, ratings, and profile information are owned and controlled by AniList, subject to AniList’s own Terms of Service. Zenbu is not affiliated with or endorsed by AniList.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service or its data sources.
• Use automated scraping against Zenbu at a rate that degrades the Service for other users.
• Use the Service to violate any applicable law, including copyright law.
• Circumvent AniList’s adult-content settings or any access controls on the Service.

Zenbu does not host, upload, encode, or store any video files. Playback is provided by linking to third-party sources that are publicly embeddable at the time of indexing. Zenbu has no control over the availability, legality, or content of those sources in any given jurisdiction, and makes no representation that any given title is licensed for streaming in your region. Use of streaming sources is at your own discretion and risk. See our DMCA policy for takedown procedures.

Anime titles, synopses, cover art, and related metadata are sourced from AniList and belong to their respective copyright holders. Zenbu’s own code, design, and branding are the property of their author and may not be reproduced without permission.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including uptime, accuracy of metadata, or availability of any given streaming source. Zenbu depends on the AniList API and third-party sources it does not control, and cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zenbu and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on third-party streaming sources or loss of AniList list data.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zenbu and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right, including copyright, in connection with your use of the Service.

You must meet AniList’s own minimum age requirement to hold an AniList account, and by extension to sign in to Zenbu. If your AniList account has Adult (NSFW) content enabled, you confirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction to view such content.

You may stop using the Service at any time by revoking Zenbu’s access in your AniList app settings and clearing local storage. We reserve the right to restrict access to the Service, without notice, for anyone who violates these Terms or whose use poses a risk to the Service or its other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual Property, Disclaimer, Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) continue to apply after your access ends.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us through the Contact page. Nothing in this section limits either party’s right to seek relief in a court of competent jurisdiction where required by law.

Severability— if any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

Entire agreement— these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and DMCA Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Zenbu regarding the Service.

Assignment— you may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

No waiver— failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
