Zenbu uses cookies and localStorageonly to operate core features of the Service — there is no analytics or advertising layer setting cookies on this site.

When you sign in, your AniList access token is stored in localStorage and mirrored to a cookie named anilist_token. This cookie is intentionally not marked httpOnly— it exists only so Edge middleware can check, client-side, whether a signed-in session exists before allowing access to /list. The actual authenticated requests to AniList always use the token from localStorage, not the cookie.

A sidebar_state cookie remembers whether the navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed. Your light/dark/system theme choice is stored locally by the theme provider. Both are purely cosmetic and contain no personal data.

Zenbu does not run advertising networks, third-party analytics pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies. The only third party that receives your credentials is AniList itself, as part of authenticating your requests to their API.

You can clear Zenbu’s cookies and local storage at any time through your browser’s site data settings, or by signing out, which clears the auth token and cookie. Clearing these will sign you out and reset interface preferences to their defaults.

If the set of cookies Zenbu uses changes, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will reflect it.
